Aircell Connectivity Added to Gulfstream's Factory Product Line
A comprehensive range of Aircell communications systems will be offered by Gulfstream Aerospace throughout its product family. An announcement in this regard has been made by the top provider of inflight connectivity across the world, Aircell.
Gulfstream customers at the factory can now obtain two new high-speed network services with this announcement. Multiple in-flight technologies, Gogo Biz Inflight Internet and Aircell’s SwiftBroadband Solution can be selected by the customers to stay connected and productive while they fly.
True high-speed Internet service is provided by Gogo Biz Inflight Internet throughout Continental U.S. Gogo Biz operates over Aircell’s advanced air-to-ground network. An internet experience similar to the ground is therefore provided by Gogo Biz. It is the only solution in business aviation to do so. The equipment used is small and light. It can virtually fit on any business aircraft. Gogo Biz is offered by Aircell in two different packages. These are the ATG (News - Alert) 4000 and ATG 5000. The service is available on the Gulfstream G150, G200, G350, G450, G500 and G550.
Global e-mail, light Internet and voice service are provided by Aircell’s SwiftBroadband solution. The solution operates over the Inmarsat (News - Alert) I-4 satellites. Affordable, global connectivity is offered by the state of the art SwiftBroadband service. Based on the Aviator 300 system, Aircell's SwiftBroadband equipment package at Gulfstream is powered by Thrane & Thrane (News - Alert). This service is available on the Gulfstream G150 and G200.
A complete, network-neutral cabin system, Aircell Axxess from Aircell will also be offered by Gulfstream to its customers. Two built-in channels of Iridium (News - Alert) satellite service are included in this system. This is used for global voice and narrowband data service. Aircell's Gogo Biz and SwiftBroadband systems are fully compatible with Aircell Axxess. Aircell Axxess is available as standard or optional equipment on the Gulfstream G200, G350, G450, G500 and G550.
In a press release, John Wade, executive VP and general at Aircell, said, "We're very pleased to extend our relationship with Gulfstream on this exciting new program. Inflight connectivity has become a required service and with a full range of connectivity technologies now available at the factory, customers can select the services that best meet their particular needs."
