EMRISE Receives $1.2 Million Order from a Long Standing Customer in Commercial Aerospace Market
The Emrise Corporation, a key supplier of electronic devices, sub-systems and equipment for aerospace, defense, industrial and communications markets, reportedly received a $1.2 million order from a customer in the commercial aerospace market. Under the terms of the contract, Emrise will provide the customer with electronic devices to be used in In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity systems.
A press release revealed that the order was received from a longstanding customer by the Company's Pascall Electronics Ltd. subsidiary in England. Shipment of the order will occur over a 12-month period starting in July 2012.
Company officials informed that this order contributes to the orders the company expects to ship later in 2012 and beyond.
Emrise products have been designed to perform key functions such as: power supply and power conversion; radio frequency (RF) and microwave signal processing; and network access and timing and synchronization of communications networks. The company’s network products are increasingly being used in network timing and synchronization in edge networks. The demand for these products has been a huge growth driver for the company’s communications equipment business segment, while the company’s power supplies, RF and microwave signal processing devices and subsystems in on-board in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems is a primary growth driver for the company's electronic devices business segment. Emrise’s customers are spread across North America, Europe and Asia through operations in the United States, England and France.
EMRISE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Carmine T. Oliva commented in a statement that aerospace market is fast becoming a growth-market for the company and complementing its years old military business.
“This order is from a customer in the commercial aerospace market, which is becoming a growing market opportunity for our products that complements our long-standing military business. We are seeing increases in demand for the use of EMRISE products in IFE&C applications. At the same time, our IFE&C business is being enhanced by opportunities in other commercial markets we serve such as marine navigation and oil field exploration. We believe these commercial markets should continue to be important sources of revenue for us in the coming months,” Oliva noted in a statement.
Earlier this month, Emrise announced that that it has received additional orders valued at approximately $900,000 from a major international marine services provider for electronic systems for identifying and marking marine (shipping) channels and marine hazards. Deliveries against these new orders are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2012 and be completed by the end of 2012, the company informed in an earlier release.
