ViaSat Inc.Deploys Airborne Communications-on-the-Move Terminals on Large Number of U.S. Air Force Project Liberty Aircraft

This was done to give assistance to ISR operations.
Liberty program employs L-3 Integrated Systems as the system integrator. It consists of ViaSat ArcLight COTM terminals and safe network services. The MC-12 Liberty is a minute, twin-turboprop plane based on the Beechcraft King Air 350ER.
The ArcLight Ku-band mobile broadband system is developed mainly to offer high-speed beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) communications. In order to support ISR activities, it is configured in the application for data rates not less than 1 Mbps off the aircraft. The system is based on ArcLight mobile satellite communication system. It is a successful system with around 1500 terminals delivered globally. The ViaSat system also offers broadband BLOS ISR and Command and Control (C2) communication links for numerous other U.S. military organizations.
