Under terms of the agreement, Telespazio will resell iNetVu equipment in South America and other parts of the world.

Ottawa-based portable satellite antenna manufacturer C-COM (News - Alert) is currently familiarizing South America with iNetVu, and plans to demonstrate the product at a military exhibition in Buenos Aires this month.

“We are pleased to have been selected by Telespazio to be their mobile satellite antenna supplier and look forward to working with them to deliver iNetVu broadband solutions to their extensive customer base in South America as well as in other parts of the world” said Leslie Klein, president and CEO of C-COM, in a press statement.

Telespazio operates a network of four space centers and 25 sites worldwide.

“C-COM’s auto-deploying satellite antenna systems fits perfectly with the integrated satellite solutions we provide to the military, oil and gas, mining and governmental sectors in Latin America” said Pablo Recalt, marketing and sales director of Telespazio Argentina S.A. “Telespazio’s professional engineering staff will provide complete integration, installation and support for the iNetVu Mobile platforms.”

At October’s SATCON Expo in New York City, C-COM scored points among attendees for its iNetVu SolarPack S1600, which runs on solar energy. The portable solar power system can supply up to 600W of quiet AC power to operate a complete iNetVu Flyaway System. It consists of an advanced 19-inch mount electronic inverter and a rugged case that can be wheeled over rough terrain. It houses two foldable solar panels, a charge controller, a battery and three standard DC outlets.

“We had quite a lot of activity from the major TV Networks that are interested in using the iNetVu Auto-Deploys as a low-cost DSNG application,” Jim Ferris, regional sales manager of Ottawa-based C-COM, told TMCnet. Additionally, the growing interest in solar energy also drew in show attendees, he added.
