Information from CODY Systems C.O.B.R.A.™ Platform available in N-DEx
POTTSTOWN, Pa. --(Business Wire)--
CODY Systems, the industry leader in integrated public safety software for real-time collection, analysis and sharing of critical data for public safety, law enforcement and intelligence agencies, today announced that information from its C.O.B.R.A. information-sharing platform is available within the FBI's N-DEx database. This, information, gathered from across different public safety agencies and RMS vendors through C.O.B.R.A., is being sent upstream, through an interface, to the New Jersey Data Exchange (NJ-DEx), and made available to the National Data Exchange (N-DEx), the Federal Bureau of Investigations' national database.
Currently, any agency connected to C.O.B.R.A. in New Jersey that inputs information into its local records management system (regardless of RMS vendor), has that information actively synchronized to C.O.B.R.A. and available for search to other connected agencies' officers and investigators within seconds, via the system's ExpressBridge™ tool. Each connected agency uses whatever RMS vendor they currently have; C.O.B.R.A.'s ExpressBridge tool takes care of the rest, including sending appropriate information upstream to systems like NJ-DEx.
Now, with this new interface, agencies' information shared with C.O.B.R.A. is synchronized with NJ-DEx within seconds of entry at the agency level. From there, the information is uploaded to N-DEx, where it can be used in solving other crimes on a national level.
Users of C.O.B.R.A., at their desk or in the field, can search for persons, vehicles, locations, incidents, etc. across the RMS databases of all connected agencies, complete with photos and narratives (where allowed), as well as officer safety alerts. C.O.B.R.A. also searches NCIC/SCIC at the same time, with one search, if an agency has purchased that option.
"The root of C.O.B.R.A. has always been and will always be officer and citizen safety," said CODY Systems' CEO Fran Heffner. "We have hundreds of agencies nationwide using our technology. This technology protects thousands of officers in the field by arming them with up-to-the-second cross-agency information on the people, places, vehicles, etc. they confront on a daily basis. Now, with this interface, much like similar interfaces we have in other states, we are happy to know that the information collected through our C.O.B.R.A. system in New Jersey is accessible to other officers and agencies across the United States."
