SkyBitz Appoints Two Key Industry Executives

STERLING, Va., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyBitz® announced two new appointments to its executive team that are intended to strengthen the company's position as the leading remote asset tracking and information management service provider. Henry Popplewell joins SkyBitz as its new Senior Vice President of Sales and Siamak Azmoudeh joins as Senior Vice President of Product Line Management.

Mr. Popplewell has extensive experience in the machine-to-machine, wireless and transportation industries, as well as a proven sales track record. We believe these new team members will help SkyBitz continue to grow and provide greater customer satisfaction." Azmoudeh has more than 25 years of experience in the transportation and adjacent industries. He was formerly Vice President at Pegasus TransTech in Tampa, Fla., and was responsible for software sales, product roadmap and development. He also led IT operations and infrastructure, and oversaw the support and operation of corporate and redundant data centers. Prior to joining Pegasus TransTech, Azmoudeh was CIO for Quality Distribution Inc., (QLTY) a $700 million tank truck carrier. Previously, he was the Sales Engineering Manager of Land Transportation Electronics (LTE), a division of Rockwell International (ROK), providing mobile communications and onboard computing to the trucking industry. Azmoudeh started his trucking career with Tri-State Motor Transit.

Popplewell has more than 20 years executive sales experience and a proven track record of driving revenue growth and improving customer loyalty. Popplewell was most recently at SkyTel where he oversaw sales and distribution. He has successful sales and operations experience in high growth technology startups and Fortune 250 corporations across multiple industries including: wireless telecommunications, logistics/ supply chain, transportation, software as a service (SaaS), and e-commerce. In his role as the Vice-President of National Sales at Nextel, Popplewell conceived and built the first vertical industry sales model in wireless communications. He is a recognized expert in mobile technologies with a focus on GPS/tracking and resource management (MRM) applications, frequently speaking at industry tradeshows and analyst events. Prior to his tenure at Nextel, Popplewell spent over 20 years with Ryder Systems Inc., most recently as Vice President of National Sales.
