It's twice as nice

You're like a drug to me, like my own personal brand of heroin..." these lines and the Twilight saga have become quite a trip for many twi-hearts (twilight saga lovers) across the world. The movie releases in India today, just as its sequel premiers worldwide. So there is the Twilight saga books and now two movies, but there's also some fantastic music from it. That, of course, many who refuse to look beyond the vampire lover boy Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) have ignored. I'm guilty on that count too, or at least initially was!
The score and the soundtrack both are enchanting. To start with, Full Moon (that the movie almost begins with) by the Black Ghosts, has refused to leave my brain, my phone or my music player. Then, of course, another favourite is the slow, simmering track called Eyes on Fire by Blue Foundation and Muse's Super Massive Blackhole, among others.
What I also found
Interesting was author Stephenie Meyer's playlist while she was writing various parts of the series, as she's mentioned on her website. She says she can't write without music and obviously the scene won't have the same impact without the well-chosen music for both Twilight and New Moon. Songs in her playlists tell the story like a movie. Her 'twilight' playlist includes Tremble for my Beloved by Collective Soul that also features in the OST, Why Does It Always Rain On Me by Travis and David Gray's Please forgive me. The score, too, has some good ones like Bella's lullaby and The Lion Fell in Love with the Lamb by Cartel Burwell.
Then onto the New Moon she'd been hearing some awesome tracks like Do you release by the Flaming Lips (so surreal so true and so close to the plot of the story), Linkin' Park's Papercut, for obvious reasons, Coldplay's Fix You, Dido's White Flag and Saliva's anguish in Rest in Pieces. They already have this OST glowing with some lovely music by Death Cab for Cutie (Meet Me On the Equinox), The Killers (A White Demon Love) Song and Anya Marina (Satellite Heart), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (Done All Wrong) and the absolutely spellbinding, New Moon: The Meadow by Alexandre Desplat. Yes, Pattinson also mumble-sings on the Twilight OST in Never Think. I just held on to a few OSTs -- Requiem for a Dream, Into the Wild and now the Twilight saga. Play on!
