Route4Me.com Launches First Optimized Routing Application for the iPhone

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Feb 09, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- News Facts -- The Route4Me iPhone application is a location-based iPhone app that finds the shortest route for multi-destination trips.

-- The Route4Me iPhone application simultaneously allows users to save time, money and be Green by determining the route that requires the least amount of driving. Using the Route4Me iPhone application, users spend less time in the car, reduce the amount of money spent on gas and decrease CO2 emissions by burning less gas by traveling the optimal route.

-- To get started, users input a departure address and then add multiple destinations. The Route4Me iPhone application offers several different input options for addresses: The user's real-time location, street addresses, airport codes and names of famous landmarks or geo-coordinates.

-- The application also displays the order in which users should visit various destinations, provides an integrated map view, and provides turn-by-turn directions between all destinations. The Route4Me iPhone application makes it easy to maintain a schedule by displaying miles between each destination and approximate travel time, and even a round-trip option, which optimizes the route accordingly.

-- People who consistently drive the same route will find convenience in the Route4Me iPhone app's "Favorites" tab, which allows users to "Favorite" frequently traveled routes or addresses. The application also saves the most recent trips in the "Recents" tab, making it easy to revisit recently traveled routes.

-- When people are traveling to a friend's house, they can seamlessly grab an address from their iPhone address book using the application's "Contacts" tab. Once a contact is selected, the address is automatically added as an additional destination.

-- Users can view each of their destinations on an interactive map that has several different viewing options, including an option that incorporates satellite imagery.

-- The Route4Me iPhone application is available in the App Store for a one-time fee of $1.99.
