Market Maker Surveillance Report. KO, NOK, BAC, CMVT, CX, NWSA, Bearishly Biased Price Friction For Monday, November 5th 2012

Nov 06, 2012 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4050 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2710 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2626 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO), Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), Comverse Technology Inc (NASDAQ:CMVT), Cemex SAB de CV (NYSE:CX), News Corp (NASDAQ:NWSA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction KO $-0.240 -0.66% 4,683,739 39.31% 3,386,401 28.42% 1,297,338 Abnormal NOK $-0.040 -1.43% 9,025,943 39.81% 7,923,944 34.95% 1,101,999 Abnormal BAC $-0.140 -1.42% 43,276,835 36.05% 40,983,710 34.14% 2,293,125 Abnormal CMVT $-0.040 -1.16% 3,870,326 57.01% 2,917,947 42.99% 952,379 Abnormal CX $-0.060 -0.66% 8,280,560 34.40% 6,938,025 28.82% 1,342,535 Abnormal NWSA $-0.040 -0.17% 8,784,796 56.02% 6,813,433 43.45% 1,971,363 Abnormal Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Monday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KO with 1,297,338 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.24000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
