China Launches One More Environment Satellite

TAIYUAN, Nov 19, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Today, China launched HJ-1C in the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center (TSLC) with Long March 2C. Also launched were a technology demonstration satellite and a hummingbird test load.

HJ-1C is a synthetic aperture radar satellite. Coordinating with HJ-1A and HJ-1B launched in September 2008, they will monitor and forecast disasters and environmental data.

The technology demonstration satellite and a hummingbird test load will test new aerospace equipment and materials as well as micro and small satellite platforms.
