EchoStar XVI satellite launched by ILS

Nov 21, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Satellite launch services provider International Launch Services (ILS) reported on Wednesday that it has successfully delivered the EchoStar XVI satellite into orbit for EchoStar Corporation (NASDAQ:SATS).

The satellite was launched on an ILS Proton from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

EchoStar XVI is a direct broadcast satellite that is fully leased to DISH Network for use in its Direct-to-Home (DTH) services in the United States. It will be positioned at 61.5 degrees West longitude.
