SES and O3b Networks partner to provide internet broadband capacity to Digicel in Papua New Guinea

Jan 18, 2013 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Satellite operator SES (Paris:SESG.PA) and O3b Networks, a satellite service provider, announced today that Digicel, a mobile phone network provider, has contracted capacity on SES' NSS-9 satellite and O3b's Medium Earth Orbit fleet to provide high quality internet bandwidth for its cellular network in Papua New Guinea.

Under the multi-year agreement, financial detail of which were not available, Digicel will use the C-band capacity on the NSS-9 satellite at 183 degrees East and the O3bTrunk service to continue to deliver voice and high-speed mobile data services to its customers across Papua New Guinea.
