TeleCommunication Systems Gets Order for Deployable VSAT Satellite Systems

Jan 22, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS), a provider of mobile communication technology, announced that it has received an order from the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) for its Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite systems.

The DSTO is the Australian government's lead agency charged with applying science and technology to protect and defend Australia and its national interests and delivers impartial advice and solutions for defense and other elements of national security. TCS reported that its VSAT systems provide multimedia communications capabilities which convey encrypted voice, video and data.

Michael Bristol, senior vice president and general manager of government solutions for TCS, said, "The Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation recognizes the importance of secure, reliable and easily deployable satellite communications systems, such as our WGS-certified VSAT satellite systems. We look forward to helping them achieve mission success with this proven communications solution." For the past 25 years, TCS has established a proven track record as a trusted provider of communication technology solutions to solve the government's toughest technical challenges, under conditions that demand the highest level of reliability, availability and security. To ensure mission continuity and to meet the need for more flexible, mobile wireless services, TCS TotalCom offers deployable, highly secure communication solutions and complete end-to-end managed services for converged (IP-based) voice, video and data solutions to organizations requiring seamless and secure connectivity between fixed sites and remote operations around the world.
