New York, NY, Jan 23, 2013 (eTeligis.com via COMTEX) Time Warner Cable has struck a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers to broadcast the Major League Baseball team's games.

The deal would snatch the rights away from News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA), the media company controlled by Rupert Murdoch, which has been paying about $40 million a year to broadcast the games.

News Corporation is a diversified global media company. The Company operates in six segments: Cable Network Programming; Filmed Entertainment; Television; Direct Broadcast Satellite Television; Publishing, and Other. Cable Network Programming produces and licenses news, business news, sports, general entertainment and movie programming for distribution through cable television systems and direct broadcast satellite operators.
