BRIEF: Boonshoft opening Springfield museum

SPRINGFIELD, Jan 29, 2013 (Springfield News-Sun - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Dayton's Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is expanding to Springfield.

The interactive science center, long a destination for Clark County families, will tentatively open a 4,000-square-foot satellite museum at the Upper Valley Mall on March 9, said Mark Meister, president and CEO of the Dayton Society of Natural History, the museum's parent organization.

The Boonshoft had a retail kiosk at the mall this past holiday season for the first time, and it did well, Meister said.

Springfield, he said, seemed like a logical choice for a satellite museum, which will contain interactive exhibits aimed at a family audience.
