AWC late start classes starting in March
Even though the spring semester at Arizona Western College is already under way, the college offers late-start classes that begin in March.
Classes offered include core classes like math and English and businesses classes like computer information systems, as well as physical education, recreation and special interest courses.
"Arizona Western College is now designing semesters to fit a student's busy schedule, and courses are now available in eight-week, 12-week and 16-week (full semester) terms," stated AWC. "The classes starting March 18 are part of the second eight-week term for Spring 2013."
Classes are available online, in person, on weekends, in the evenings, and through interactive television.
For a complete class schedule, visit www.azwestern.edu, where the online search tool allows courses to be searched by subject, instructor, location, or by other class criteria, like start date, class day and time.

Scholarship workshops being offered at AWC
AWC is offering free workshops and assistance for students applying for AWC scholarships.
"Scholarship season at AWC has arrived, and all students and prospective students are encouraged to apply for as many as possible," stated the college.
Most scholarships require essays, which can prove daunting to some students. To assist them, free scholarship essay workshops are being held Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and, March 4 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the AWC Writing Center in room SC 206 on the main campus. Students may sign up at the Writing Center or by calling 317-6171.
The workshops will also be broadcast to La Paz and San Luis satellite campuses. Students who attend the workshops may be referred to writing tutors who can offer further assistance.
The deadline to submit applications for AWC scholarships is March 21. Students may pick up a list of scholarships at the AWC Foundation office on the second floor of the 3C Building on Main Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E. Or they may view the scholarship list online by visiting www.foundation.azwestern.edu and clicking on the "scholarship" tab to find types and names of scholarships, criteria for each and amounts to be awarded. Students can also click on the "application" tab, fill out the application, print it, and then take it to the AWC Foundation office for submission.
