REDTAIL Telematics Launches Vehicle Asset Management Quad Band

REDTAIL Telematics Corporation, a global business entity based in North America and a company that creates, manufactures and distributes designs and quality manufactured products, unveiled the new Vehicle Asset Management (VAM) quad band (850/900/1800/1900MHz), GPS product. The Company has started shipping the new product to North America and Europe.

This high quality product, as stated, was developed for multiple vertical markets. Coupled with this carefully designed GPS device, REDTAIL also offers REDTAIL Telematics Protocol (RTP), available in TCP/IP and UDP over GPRS and SMS.

In testing since April 2009, VAM is now approved by CE, FCC, PTCRB (News - Alert) and multiple carriers.

Key features of the new VAM device includes; Ability to detect harsh braking and rapid acceleration; OBDII integration capability; Inputs/Outputs; Comprehensive software development kit (SDK); Internal GSM/GPS antenna with option to use external GPS antenna; and IP67 offering for harsh fleet environments.

Leveraging the accomplished design history of REDTAIL’s technology partner, VAM is said to be only the first of many products to be introduced into the product portfolio.

“VAM was designed for REDTAIL Telematics to provide GPS tracking businesses with a full featured quality product. Our engineering experience coupled with the sales and distribution background of REDTAIL Telematics is a winning combination for success,” Colin Smithers, managing director, Plextek (News - Alert) said in a statement.

In related news, the company announced a partnership with Troo Corporation of Ottawa, ON (News - Alert) Canada to bring a Fleet Management Solution to market for small to medium size fleet segments. This partnership, as stated, is aimed to create a low-cost, full-featured, best-in-class solution for fleet managers demanding better control and interaction with their mobile assets.
