By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

As one of the world’s most admired airlines, Delta Air Lines has announced an exclusive marketing agreement with OnAsset (News - Alert) Intelligence. Under the agreement, Delta Cargo will integrate the  OnAsset GPS tracking solution-SENTRY 400 FlightSafe into deltacargo.com to offer improved cargo visibility to its customers.

OnAsset Intelligence Inc. is a provider of wireless devices and software solutions, designed to allow customers wirelessly locate, track, connect, and manage fixed and mobile assets in real-time. The agreement with OnAsset enables the Delta Cargo customers to track and trace cargo on Delta Cargo’s website.

Delta customers who rely on the airline for transferring their high value cargos will immensely benefit from this recent agreement between these two companies as the GPS enabled information will allow the customers to keep track of their high value assets at every step of their movement.

OnAsset’s M2M products and services include SENTRY’s wireless hardware with its flagship product line FlightSafe for air cargo tracking and ContainerSafe for shipping container security, a Web-based Vision Platform and global wireless connectivity services.

In a press release, Delta said that it has deployed the FAA- approved, SENTRY 400 FlightSafe device on all its mainline and connection flights, which give the shippers visibility of their shipments in remote and rural locations. With OnAsset GPS tracking devices in place, the Delta customers will be able to continuously keep tab on their sensitive shipments such as pets, as well as specialty items like golf bags, hunting and fishing gear, and jewelry cases.

The service will be available for all cargo shipments across the Delta and Delta Connection fleet. Delta Cargo operates more than 5,000 daily flights to more than 340 destinations in 61 countries.

“Our agreement with OnAsset is a huge boost for Delta customers, who move high value cargo, to allow them to see where there shipment is every step of the way. Offering GPS customers our complete network and combining active and passive tracking data into a single location will be a considerable advantage for their critical shipment needs,” Delta senior vice president and chief cargo officer Neel Shah noted in a statement.

“We are pleased to announce our relationship with Delta. Closing visibility gaps with innovative solutions will enhance the supply chain significantly. We are proud to be a part of Delta’s plans for today and in the future,” president and chief executive officer for OnAsset Intelligence ,” company officials added.

Earlier this month, TMCnet reported that OnAsset Intelligence announced that United Cargo selected the OnAsset SENTRY 400 FlightSafe device for transport on its mainline fleet.
