Case Construction Releases Fleet Management Product

By Julie Griffin, Contributing Writer

Case Construction Company introduced its newest product, Case Fleet Connect, at a construction convention in Paris yesterday. The telematics system, which has been praised by users in other industries, will now assist construction plants by tightening security and relaying accurate maintenance needs to fleet management. Although Case Fleet Connect was designed with Case Construction equipment in mind, non-Case brand construction vehicles can also adapt the system.

Case Fleet Connect provides unique services in addition to the standard services of GPS. Not only will Case Fleet Connect allow users to keep track of each vehicle’s location, path and direction, the system comes with a motion detector and a curfew cut-off point. The fleet owner can also receive e-mail updates that will take the guess work away from when and why a vehicle needs maintenance.

Although the Case Construction Company was named in honor of the inventor of the steamboat, they are not behind the invention of fleet management telematics. In fact, fleet management, which is popular in Ireland and the UK, is commonly used in farming equipment and public transportation. Patrick Cotter of Fleet Connect (seen in the video) has received praise over how the system has enhanced public transportation across Europe. Fleet management saves cities money and time and provides passengers with Wi-Fi.
