Trakm8 Intros T8 Mini Waterproof Telematics Unit

Trakm8, a provider in the global telematics market place, has unveiled a compact and waterproof telematics unit called T8 Mini.
This new unit comes with variety of features and possible application areas, and is perfect for trailer and asset tracking, with its compact dimensions, IP67 enclosure and cables, internal antennas and industry-leading low power consumption, according to the company.
The company officials say that the new unit addresses major mobile application that requires accurate positioning and communication based on cost effective secure internet protocols.
Built with SIrf star IV GPS chipset, tri axis accelerometer and serial port that offers standard tracking applications, driving in cab feedback modules and monitoring driver behavior are all within the T8 Mini's capability.
It also comes with application implementation support, integrated GPS and GSM antennas, industrial M12 connector and is compliant to worldwide legislation. This unit is approved for use in vehicles and is suitable for external mounting.
According to the company, T8 Mini represents their most flexible and cost effective hardware product to date.
Trackm8 designs and manufactures tailor-made hardware and software solutions for a complete fleet management, reporting and informational needs. Its innovative technology allows the live data to be retrieved from any vehicle’s onboard computer; this information can be viewed at the base.
To optimize the utilization and the cost effectiveness, the information can then be monitored by the fleet managers by using measuring factors, which include fuel usage, CO2 emissions, and driver behavior.
Trackm8 has never looked back since designing and developing the world’s first GPRS-based GPS tracking system in 2002, and has since supplied the industry with over 160,000 units.
