Maverick Aviation Group Picks OuterLink Global Solutions as Communications Provider

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Maverick Aviation Group, the parent company of Maverick Helicopters, Mustang Helicopters and Maverick Airlines, has recently selected OuterLink Global Solutions as its the satellite tracking and communications provider.

Steve Durante, OuterLink CEO said, “OuterLink Global Solutions prides itself on providing innovative communication technology solutions. Maverick Aviation Group has been a long standing customer and we are pleased that they will continue to install our communications equipment on their new fleet of Eurocopter EC 130 helicopters. Maverick’s leadership, staff, and customers expect the highest level of performance from their communications technology. They’re a progressive group, and we’re very proud and excited to continue to deliver premier solutions for them.”

OuterLink has been building and operating high value asset tracking and communication systems since 1994. Company officials say that all their products go through FAA DO-160 testing and are held to meeting the high vibration and extreme environmental conditions of the rotorcraft standard.

According to the officials, the confidence in their products and their commitment to constant quality improvement is exemplified by their 1 year non-prorated warranty on parts and labor.

The company has over 47 FAA STC's for their satcom systems and are flying in aircraft ranging from Bell 206-helicopters and single engine Piper aircraft to Sikorsky S-92 helicopters, Citation Jets and Dash8300's. The company even holds satcom transceivers that have operated in the harsh Gulf of Mexico saltwater environment to the demanding environment of fire fighting in Ontario, Canada.

In other news, thousands of helicopter and fixed-wing operators worldwide stand to benefit from a recently signed agreement between EMS Aviation, a division of EMS Technologies (News - Alert), Inc., and OuterLink.

The agreement calls for the companies to share aircraft tracking data, which will allow customers to take advantage of the significant improvements in mapping technologies without being dependent on a particular network or geographic operation. A wider choice in dispatch software will enhance customers' flexibility in selecting a tracking system based on specific mission requirements.
