ORBIT Communications Announces New VSAT Solution OrSat300
By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer
The new program, OrSat300, is a flexible maritime VSAThigh-speed, broadband communication solution that is much needed in the ever-changing maritime communications field. The program was reportedly designed as “Ka Ready,” allowing it to use its unique stabilization control to more quickly and easily integrate with existing Ka service platforms.
The Orsat300 will be able to use a wide variety of different RF communication arrays, including Ka, Ku or X. This particular solution also conforms to the strictest of environmental standards, seemingly putting it at the head of an ever-growing pack.
"The high growth potential of the Asian satellite communication market is a magnet for the industry's leading global players, which will convene again this year at CommunicAsia 2012.” said Ofer Greenberger, CEO at ORBIT Communication Systems. “Accordingly, this important industry event is the perfect opportunity for ORBIT to introduce its unique OrSat300 offering to the strategic Asian market. OrSat300 leverages breakthrough technology to meet both current and future needs.”
“As a Ka ready system, OrSat300 allows our customers to significantly improve their return on investment and reduce overall cost of ownership for equipment spanning multiple technology generations," Greenberger added.
ORBIT has made a habit of offering a wide range of communication solutions, not only for maritime use but land-based applications. The company’s solutions are now installed on more than 3,500 marine platforms, and are included on Naval vessels as well as cargo ships, oil rigs and ocean liners.
These solutions allow the ships to have access to services such as television reception and internet connectivity so that users might watch TV programs, access the Internet or gain access to telephony applications.
