Bentley Walker Invests in iDirect Hub

The Series 15000 series hubs from iDirect (News - Alert) are suited for satellite hubs for service providers managing various high performance IP broadband networks.  Allowing network operators and service providers to operate from a single location the highest quality networks, the hubs combine functionality and flexibility into a scalable solution.

Recently, Bentley Walker Ltd., one of the largest VSAT network operators in Europe, bought a Universal 15000 series hub to improve the company's satellite service offerings in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The flexibility of the iDirect platform helps Bentley Walker offer communications solutions to various end users in the Middle East. They include soldiers who require dependable and secure mobile communications and enterprise users who need on-demand broadband access for streaming voice, video, and data.

Bentley Walker can now provide high speed, low-cost, two-way data communications to its increasing customer base in the region with its considerable investment in Ka-band capacity. The company will also provide satellite capacity through multiple service models with this funding, the company stated in a press release.

“Bentley Walker continues to be an early adopter in the satellite services industry. With the addition of a new hub running Ka-band services, the company is able to offer a complete blended portfolio of services based on the iDirect platform,” said Stephen Tunnicliffe, regional VP, Europe, iDirect. “Through its integrated, multi-band network, Bentley Walker can deliver completely customized satellite solutions to end users based on their unique application requirements.”

In 2011, TMC (News - Alert) reported that the company announced its manufacturing agreement with SelectTech GeoSpatial, a manufacturer and integrator of electronic systems, communications, sensors, to create two different variants of airborne-certified enclosures.
