OmniAccess Deploys New iDirect Satellite Hub Further Expanding Its Global Maritime Satellite Network
By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor
OmniAccess recently announced that it has deployed a new iDirect (News - Alert) Series 15100 Universal Satellite Hub to further expand its coverage area for customers. The iDirect Series 15100 Universal Satellite Hub will help ensure connectivity for high-bandwidth applications regardless of where a user travels. OmniAccess is one of the leading providers of communications to super- and mega-yacht owners.
Bertrand HARTMAN CEO, OmniAccess, said, "Thanks to the scalability of the iDirect platform and the dedicated efforts of iDirect's technical services and support staff, we were able to establish a global satellite network in only 18 months. For a growing company like ours, this quick growth has been instrumental to our success. Moreover, because two of the three hubs we have deployed were completely installed by iDirect remotely, there has been minimal impact to our operations."
Yacht owners depend on uninterrupted high-speed connectivity for a varied assortment of advanced applications such as HD video conferencing, and HDTV channels streaming, corporate VPN access and calls. Customers of OmniAccess’ multi-hub iDirect satellite network will now find it easier to access any of these advanced applications from any location without the need for changing their satellite service providers or plans.
By deploying another iDirect hub, the company has effectively expanded its coverage and has benefited from iDirect's advanced range of mobility solutions. By incorporating iDirect’s advanced Automatic Beam Selection (ABS (News - Alert)) which supports robust connectivity between coverage areas, as well as the Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) which ensures the highest level of uptime even during bad weather, OmniAccess is able to deliver seamless BroadBEAM ULTRA connectivity with speeds of up to 30 mbps for its customers at sea.
