C-COM Unveils Service Center in Argentina

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

C-COM (News - Alert) Satellite Systems, Inc. has inaugurated its maiden service center in Argentina. The service center will be operated by the major provider of mobile auto-implementing satellite antenna systems, C-COM, in association with Telespazio (News - Alert) Argentina S.A., based in Buenos Aires.

Enterprises in Argentina utilizing the C-COM manufactured iNetVu mobile antennas will be offered local maintenance and support by the C-COM authorized service, which will be managed by Telespazio Argentina.

Technicians at Telespazio Argentina have undergone the mandatory theoretical and practical training courses, ensuring troubleshooting and maintenance of the iNetVu mobile antenna systems in a competent manner.

"Telespazio Argentina is one of the largest resellers of the iNetVu mobile satellite antenna systems in South America, with a significant installed base of corporate and government customers,” said Leslie Klein (News - Alert), president and CEO at C-COM. “The repair center, staffed with experienced, C-COM trained Telespazio Argentina technicians stocked with readily available spare parts, will make it possible to deliver high quality and timely support to customers in Argentina."

According to Paul Recalt, director of Network and Connectivity Business Unit at Telespazio Argentina, Argentine customers of iNetVu mobile will benefit by availing the competently trained and knowledgeable bilingual support team of Telespazio Argentina, which will offer technical support at any time of the day or night, through the latest service center.

Downtime will also be considerably decreased, as the service center will have access to original spare parts equipment locally.

"This certification extends the ability of Telespazio Argentina,” Recalt said, “which owns and operates one of the most advanced teleports in the region to dramatically improve its service offering to over 100 mobile customers, such as government agencies, oil and gas companies, mining and exploration firms and others spread over three million square kilometers of Argentina who depend on the availability of reliable satellite communications."

Commercial grade mobile satellite-based technology is developed and implemented by C-COM, ensuring two-way high-speed Internet, VoIP and Video services for vehicles.

Telespazio S.p.A. is the parent company of Telespazio Argentina. Launched in 1994, Telespazio Argentina is a major supplier of satellite services in Latin America, particularly for telecommunications, Earth observation and space programs.
