U.S. Navy Awards Contract to Globecomm Systems, Inc.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic of the U.S. Navy has granted a contract to Globecomm Systems (News
- Alert), Inc.
Globecomm, a major provider of communications solutions and services across the globe, will provide commercial-off-the-shelf satellite network and communications equipment and other offerings to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, based in Charleston, SC.
The contract between the two organizations allows an indefinite number of deliveries with indefinite number of quantities at a fixed rate. While the initial contract is for one year with a maximum worth of $17 million, the contract can be optionally extended to a maximum of four years.
In the event of the contract being extended four years, the total value of the numerous award contracts is nearly $85 million, to be shared among the several contract winners. Similar contracts like the one awarded to Globecomm have been awarded to two other organizations.
Globecomm and the two organizations will vie for individual delivery orders as per the stipulations and state of affairs of the awarded contract.
