Gilat Satellite Networks (News - Alert) Ltd. will be implementing its SkyEdge II Hub and broadband satellite platform at Servicio Satelital S.A, based in Argentina, for upgrading the organization’s current network. The SkyEdge II platform will also offer supplementary support to several current and prospective sites with broadband Internet and data connectivity.

Servicio Satelital has already implemented a Gilat SkyEdge II network in Argentina for supporting a minimum of 3,500 sites across the country.

The enhanced network will advantageously utilize the superior performance and highly developed satellite-bandwidth utilization capabilities of SkyEdge II platform for offering enhanced efficiencies and service delivery to Servicio Satelital.

As a result, customers of Servicio Satelital across the country will see improved services. Regional telecommunication operators and ISPs requiring satellite connectivity will be offered communication services by the IP-based network.
