LiveViewGPS Unveils Mobile Phone Locate

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

LiveViewGPS, a location-based service (LBS) company in Southern California, stated that its new Mobile Phone (News - Alert) Locate initiative is designed for families and businesses that can leverage the service to transform their cell phones into an around-the-clock safety location device.

The company’s service is reportedly a locator service – not a tracker service; customers can use it to locate where someone is at the moment using their cell phones and not track their movement continuously with constant updates every few seconds.

Since the service transforms the cell phone into a locator, there is no need for users to carry an expensive separate device for location identification demanded by most of the other location services.

The Mobile Phone Locate service works with Tier 1 carriers in North America, including AT&T, T-Mobile (News - Alert), Sprint PCS and Verizon in the United States, as well as Rogers and Telus in Canada. Work is in progress to cover other countries as well.

The company ascertained that the location information exchanged is SSL encrypted on secure servers to ensure it remains private.

LiveViewGPS explained that MobileLocate utilizes state-of-the-art location technology already built into one’s phone to instantly locate single or multiple phones on a graphic or satellite view map. By using both GPS and cell network data, the service ensures that users get a fast, accurate locate every time, allowing them to turn any cell phone on the service’s available networks into an on demand location device for reliable, discreet monitoring when and where they need it.

There are two different payment plans available to users now: the flexible pay-as-you-go plan is $19.95 per month for 30 locates and is valid for 90 days, and the other is the monthly plan offers 50 locates per month for $7.95.
