Genesys Partners with KDDI in Japan

By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer

Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) subsidiary Genesys has announced that it has struck a deal with one of the leading cloud service providers in Japan in the company, KDDI (News - Alert). Virtualization and cloud services are becoming the most leaned upon technologies of the 21st century and the companies that have mastered it are rising to the top of their collective fields rather quickly. This partnership between Genesys (News - Alert) and KDDI means that both companies will be able to strengthen their holds on their respective markets.

KDDI will be able to offer up its cloud-based customer service operations more efficiently with the integration of the Genesys contact center applications as well as some of the world’s best telephony services. These particular services are geared to work for both mobile and fixed contact center solution services. The partnership with Genesys will allow KDDI to put out a new contact center application that should work that much better for their clients.

The Japanese company is also looking to add several other applications that come by way of Genesys including e-mail, social media tools and the management of back office operations. The president of the Genesys chapter of the company in Japan, Hideki Wachi, says that the partnership will make it easier for the company to deploy its products in the Japanese market. The deal also adds flexibility to the company that will allow them to better serve its enterprise level customers. The two companies are going to be working hard to corner the market when it comes to cloud-based applications. A new survey shows that cloud services are going mainstream in Japan at a faster rate than they are in most other parts of the world.

According to the survey, 32 percent of Japanese companies have already taken steps to implement cloud-based services. Fifty percent of Japanese companies said that if they had not moved over to the cloud yet, they were strongly considering it. Genesys and KDDI both stand ready to take advantage of the very real popularity of those kinds of services.
