NETIA Software Installed at Indian National Broadcast Station

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

All India Radio (AIR) is set to install its NETIA's Radio-Assist 8.1 software across national and local stations. The replacement of existing news and radio automation systems by the radio broadcaster will support the provision of multilingual services across India.

NETIA's Radio-Assist 8.1 software will be installed at AIR's national broadcast station and across 48 local stations covering each part of the production and broadcast workflow.

Progressive Infotech, a Delhi-based systems integrator has been contracted to successfully complete this project. Progressive will work with NETIA to provide Radio-Assist software installation and licenses as well as server infrastructure and local support.

This software allows AIR to broadcast in 17 different languages and dialects by leveraging its Unicode compatibility feature. It also allows users to record, edit and easily perform other tasks such as scheduling, broadcasting, and administration.

"AIR's mission is to inform, educate, and entertain listeners across India, and the installation of Radio-Assist will aid the broadcaster in providing this programming with efficiency," said Mustapha Rezzoug, head of International Business Development at NETIA.

AIR is one of the largest radio networks in the world and offers many services in a number of languages, each serving different regions across India.

"The scalability and robust feature set of Radio-Assist will give AIR a much greater degree of flexibility in managing and delivering its complex and growing array of broadcast radio channels," added Rezzoug.

Last year, Netia (News - Alert) Group renewed and expanded its managed services agreement with Ericsson (News - Alert). About 190 additional Netia Group employees in total joined the Swedish telecommunications giant following the forming of the strategic alliance.
