Comtech Subsidiary Signs $1.2M Contract for Commercial Mobile Satellite Services

- Alert), a source of advanced communications solutions, has signed a $1.2-million order for satellite services that can support security vehicles operating in the Middle East.
This deal was signed through its subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom (News - Alert) Corporation, a Germantown, Maryland-based company engaged in the provisioning of satellite-based packet data communication systems, and location and messaging services.
The mobile satellite service provided by Comtech Mobile Datacom continues to prove itself essential for the safe and efficient operation of commercial security teams, operating in some of the most dangerous regions of the world.
The network provides a high level of security and reliability with its satellite transceivers, which are capable of operating over virtually all commercial L-band satellite systems, giving its customers the best possible flexibility, coverage and price.

Comtech Mobile Datacom’s Movement Tracking System (MTS (News
- Alert)) and Blue Force Tracking (BFT) solutions continue to demonstrate to the U.S. Army the value of its mobile, global satellite-based communications network, when near real-time, secure transmission is required. Also, the company’s geoOps Enterprise Location Management System is a configurable network and Web-based software platform that provides an integrated capability to command, control and manage mobile ground vehicles.
Comtech Telecommunications delivers business through three complementary segments: telecommunications transmission, RF microwave amplifiers and mobile data communications. The firm sells products to a diverse customer base in the global commercial and government communications markets.
Recently, its Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data (News - Alert) Corp., was selected as the choice of vendor by the United States Marine Corps for its turboIP-G2 Performance Enhancement Proxies.
