International Datacasting to Launch Newer Version of LASER

International Datacasting (News - Alert), a company in digital content distribution for the world’s premiere radio and television broadcasters, recently announced that it is set to launch a newer version of the LASER Targeted Ad Insertion Platform at the 2013 NAB Show, April 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

LASER enables broadcasters distributing content via satellite and IP to increase advertising revenue by inserting regional or local commercials at the edge of the network. It also opens the door to additional advertising clients, as broadcasters are no longer constrained by regional licensing or regulatory issues, and can simply blackout and replace advertising inventory to suit their needs.

Each receive location can be addressed individually or by geographical area. LASER provides pinpoint accuracy, allowing video broadcasters to offer advertisers the same level of ad insertion granularity offered by Cable TV or IPTV (News - Alert) providers. 

“With the LASER platform, television networks and content redistributors can capture a greater share of ad revenue,” said Del Lippert, Chairman of the Board and Interim CEO at IDC (News - Alert). “The LASER platform provides greater flexibility for broadcasters to offer advertisers both dynamic ad targeting and flexible ad footprints, enabling the best possible brand experience.”

“We believe the LASER platform solves crucial broadcasting needs at an attractive price-point,” Lippert added. “This next-generation product has passed extensive testing by an international broadcaster and is well on its way to helping broadcasters open new doors to maximizing their advertising inventories and revenues.”

Meanwhile, International Datacasting Corporation and Verimatrix (News - Alert), the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, have joined forces to provide DTH operators with a new solution to help them launch new IPTV services and add subscribers within multi-dwelling units (MDU).

Both companies will demonstrate this new offering at the 2013 NAB Show in April.
