EMRISE RF Systems Selected by Major Marine Services Supplier

By Rahul Arora, TMCnet Contributor

EMRISE Corporation, a multi-national manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, has reported a large order for its radio frequency (RF) systems by a major international marine services supplier of electronic systems. The $1.0 million order was placed with the company's Pascall Electronics Ltd. subsidiary in England, by a longstanding customer.

Pascall Electronics manufactures a range of radio frequency and microwave components, devices and subsystems for defense and aerospace applications. Its product range extends from frequency control products such as PLDRO, OCXO and STALO, to Log Amplifiers and custom RF assemblies.

"These types of commercial orders are complementary to our core business of supplying custom and semi-custom electronic devices for a broad range of air, land and sea-based military applications and for a number of important commercial aerospace applications such as In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity systems," EMRISE Chairman and Chief Executive Carmine T. Oliva said. He added that such orders help to increase production volumes, which could have a positive impact on manufacturing efficiency and gross margins.

EMRISE designs, manufactures and markets electronic devices, sub-systems and equipment for aerospace, defense, industrial and communications markets. EMRISE products perform key functions such as power supply and power conversion; radio frequency (RF) and microwave signal processing; and network access to public and private communications networks. The use of its network products in both legacy and modern Ethernet networks is a primary growth driver for the company's communications equipment business.

EMRISE recently announced that on March 4, 2013 it completed the purchase of both the building and land that houses Pascall Electronics, located in Ryde, England. The purchase price for the 35,000 square foot building was £1.8 million (approximately US$2.7 million). Pascall Electronics had previously leased the building and land for approximately 15 years.
