SIRIUS, honored as "The Best Radio on Radio," delivers more than 130 channels of radio programming. SIRIUS is the original and only home of 100 percent commercial free music channels in satellite radio, offering 69 music channels.

XM is America's pioneering satellite radio company with more than 7.6 million subscribers.

In February 2007, both companies signed a merger deal valued at $13 billion, which was approved by XM and Sirius shareholders last December.

The merger of Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio is expected to combine the two satellite radio providers and enable nearly 18 million subscribers to receive all satellite channels programming from the merged services. Consumers will have greater choices and at the same time, enable Satellite Radio to better compete in this quickly growing Audio Entertainment industry.

In July, the Federal Communications Commission formally approved Sirius Satellite Radio's $3.3 billion buyout of XM Satellite Radio.

The FCC (News - Alert) commissioners voted 3-2 to approve the merger, which will eventually result in huge cost savings in the industry.

"We are pleased with the FCC's approval of this proposed merger. RFM has been a long-time supporter of the satellite radio business and a primary provider of custom filters for their radios. Combined, RFM has shipped more than 70 million filters for satellite radios," said David Kirk, president and CEO of RFM.

RFM has provided custom intermediate frequency (IF) filters based on surface acoustic wave technology to both companies since their inception, the company said.

"We will continue to work closely with the merged service providers on radio designs and provide high quality products that meet stringent specifications," added Kirk
