Alert) and Nokia recently announced that their services agreement will now enable Rogers Wireless’ consumers to access the latest mobile gaming and navigation offers on their Nokia (

Alert) devices. The first kind of agreement with a wireless carrier in North America; it will further enhance Rogers Wireless’ strong foothold in the wireless data market.
"The Canadian telecom market is going through tremendous change and consumers are increasingly demanding advanced multimedia devices and services," stated Richard White, general manager and head of country operations for Nokia Canada. "Through this agreement with Rogers we are excited to deliver on that need, offering consumers compelling experiences on Nokia's devices delivered over Rogers' wireless high-speed network," White added.
Providing Nokia Maps with GPS functionality and Location Based Services; navigation of new places in the home city as well as outside will now be made easier for users. Nokia Maps includes on-screen maps of over 160 countries with innumerable of points of interest and provides users with a world-class car navigation experience with its turn-by-turn visual guidance and voice guidance that is available in 46 languages.
With Nokia Maps, users can easily plan their routes street to street, city to city, or even country to country through different perspectives like satellite images, street maps, or even a combination of both. Its dynamic re-routing feature avoids trouble spots while turn-by-turn navigation instructions assist in pedestrian guidance.
The Nokia N-Gage will help users buy sophisticated mobile games through the innovative titles from Nokia such as Reset Generation and Dirk Dagger and The Fallen Idol in addition to those from3rd party publishers. The N-gage Arena community will enable user-interaction thus taking the entire mobile gaming experience to another level.
"This agreement with Nokia gives Rogers’ customers a rich mobile gaming experience that is unique in the marketplace and an unparalleled mobile mapping application," remarked John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless. "It makes tremendous business sense for Rogers because these are two of the most in-demand applications for mobile devices," Boynton added.
Both, the N-Gage and Nokia Maps services in Canada are available on the Nokia N95 8GB smartphone which is a part of Nokia's Nseries lineup that sold over 50 million devices worldwide.
