Global satellite services provider TS2 Satellite Technologies said that the company is providing local broadband satellite connections to over fifteen thousand soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The company provides two-way high-speed internet access without any necessity of phone lines, cable or dial-up modem. Users can start using internet with a laptop, or WLAN network, can receive internet signal through a special satellite VSAT modem which is usually set up in a building or tent when deployed and this facility is available virtually anywhere, and affordable.
"We were among the first telecommunications operators in satellite technology in the territory of Iraq and Afghanistan, and as such we have enjoyed successful cooperation with the US Department of Defence, DoD contractors and individual soldiers for several years now." - says Marcin Frackiewicz, CEO of the TS2 Satellite Technologies (News - Alert).
And special facility is made available to soldiers stationed in the war-torn countries with one VSAT access point that provides broadband access to the internet; telephone connections including voice over internet protocol (VoIP), IP phone and video-conference connections.
In addition, soldiers can also transfer data to many other users simultaneously and share connections with others stationed in the same base. Moreover, TS2 equips its customers with Thuraya, Iridium and Inmarsat (News - Alert) satellite telephones, which are often the only means of communication in this region of the world.
The company also claims that the arrangement to provide internet access has resulted in an increase in the troops’ morale as the soldiers no longer feel cut of from their families as they could easily connect to them with a help of a laptop.
TS2 Satellite Technologies deals in providing global satellite access services. The company’s solutions have been implemented for United States Marine Corps (USMC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Australian Defense Force (ADF), Command of Polish Navy and many more services.
