TeleNav (News - Alert) Track is a cell phone-based GPS navigation and tracking service. “We turned to TeleNav Track to more effectively manage our security officers,” said Bryon Bayer, president at Bayer Protective Services.

Prior to the deployment of TeleNav Track, the company’s supervisors had to physically check each guard location to make sure that the officers were doing the job assigned.

Now, with the implementation of TeleNav Track, the company can confirm in real-time, what employees are doing and what they say. This has reduced company’s field management costs by more than $120,000 a year.

Currently, Bayer Protective Services provides over 250,000 security man-hours a year to commercial and industrial property clientele. The company said that it has made its processes completely transparent to its clients by deploying TeleNav Track on 100 Nextel phones available from Sprint (News - Alert).

Using breadcrumb reports, the company shows clients where assigned guards at specific times and also provides them a copy of the report to review in detail.

Additionally, TeleNav Track helped them to eliminate the issues of timecard rounding with geofencing and wireless timecard notifications.

Also, Bayer Protective Services has seen additional savings through efficient dispatch efforts with TeleNav Track. Officials said that by being able to route, track and verify the same amount of work, the company has reduced labor and vehicle-related expenses.

Keith Halasy, senior marketing manager of B2B products at TeleNav, said that by better monitoring the services it provides Bayer Protective Services is able to pass its savings on directly to their customers, thus keeping a satisfied and increasing clientele.

Currently, more than 9,000 organizations rely on TeleNav Track to help manage their mobile resources. “TeleNav Track helps companies compete by improving the way they conduct business,” said Halasy.
