Helius Recognized for its Distance Learning Technology and Law Enforcement Solutions

Distance Learning Association’s (FGDLA) Innovation Award for the development of emerging distance learning technologies that support the federal government.
FGDLA is a nonprofit organization which promotes distance learning for supporting education and training needs of federal government employees and military members. Helius was awarded for the support it offered to the Government Alliance for Training & Education by Satellite (GATES) and other distance learning activities which benefits the federal government. The award was given at the FGDLA annual awards ceremony, said Helius.
“We appreciate Helius’ support of our organization,” said Philip J-L. Westfall, president of FGDLA. “The leadership and insight they have brought to the distance learning community have been invaluable. We selected Helius as this year’s Innovation Award recipient in recognition of their development of emerging distance learning technologies that directly support the federal government.”
Helius is a subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems (News - Alert) and it provides digital communications solutions for all businesses. The company’s patented solutions enable organizations to implement applications like digital signage, distance learning and corporate communications.

Helius was also recognized for its contributions to law enforcement by the Law Enforcement Information Management Section (LEIM) at the Annual Conference and Training Exposition (IACP).
The company’s digital communication solutions have been successfully deployed at law enforcement agencies in the US for enhancing training, internal communications, public relations and most importantly officer safety. Helius digital communication solutions are used at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department which has 18,000 deputies and staff, said the company.
Commenting on the recognitions Helius’ President Mike Tippets remarked, “We are honored to have been acknowledged by these two leading organizations.
