Pitney Bowes Business Insight, a provider of location and communication intelligence software, data and services, has released MapInfo (News - Alert) MapXtreme v7.0, a new software development kit (SDK) for integrating location intelligence with existing business systems.
According to a press release, MapInfo MapXtreme’s powerful new features are designed to help developers create custom mapping applications and tailored views of geographic data, even satellite imagery into their existing business systems.
According to the company, using the power of location intelligence will allow companies to gain insight from enterprise data which will help them in making critical decisions about managing inventory, allocating resources and marketing to customers.
Pitney Bowes has stated that the feature rich SDK can be used in the development of map-centric and map-enabled applications for the desktop and the web. Designed for .NET (News - Alert) developers, this version of the SDK is capable of satisfying the need for a .NET mapping engine that is both scalable and easy to integrate with existing systems and applications.
The new version is also fully integrated with Google (News - Alert) Maps and Bing Maps for Enterprise and lets users add powerful spatial analysis capabilities to applications that display satellite imagery to see geographic and enterprise data in a whole new way. Applications created with MapInfo MapXtreme v7.0 can be deployed on the Web and the desktop, enabling organizations to deliver and share location intelligence analysis with multiple users.
The SDK is also flexible and is built on an open architecture which allows developers to access data from virtually any source and deploy applications to the desktop or web with a single SDK.
Jon Winslow, Global Portfolio director of Location Intelligence at Pitney Bowes Business Insight has commented that enterprises today have access to a wealth of location-based data that can be used to identify new business opportunities and trends, deliver services to citizens, manage infrastructure and communicate effectively with customers and partners. And with their new MapXtreme v7.0 developers can integrate location intelligence throughout their organization, helping drive down operational costs and improve cross-department decisions that impact business growth.
Recently Oracle's (News - Alert) Siebel CRM 8 validated Pitney Bowes Data Connector and Pitney Bowes MapInfo unveiled latest .NET-based Location Intelligence platform.
