The new next-generation network deployed by the company will deliver significant bandwidth efficiency gains to commercial and government organizations throughout Latin America, the Caribbean islands and the United States.
SIMS Group has stated that it has enhanced its network to better cater to the rising demands of high-speed Internet access and reliable VoIP connectivity. The new broadband service will allow users to make use of iDirect’s Evolution X3 satellite router for bandwidth intensive applications and real-time voice and data traffic.
Evolution X3 is stated to be the next-generation satellite router featuring iDirect’s highly efficient implementation of the DVB-S2 standard. The new router is ideally suited for broadband requirements such as Internet and VPN access to enterprise networks, as well as real-time VoIP and video conferencing.
The company will provide both C-band and Ku-band coverage over Satmex 5 with plans to expand its footprint through transponders the company has leased on the recently launched Amazonas 2 satellite and the services will be managed from the company’s Miami hub.
SIMS has stated that the new DVB-S2 network is necessary for them to grow and with iDirect’s Evolution product line they hope to meet customer demand for higher data performance and reliable VoIP, while delivering greater bandwidth savings.
Rob KILROY, the regional vice president of iDirect Americas, said SIMS is well-positioned to capture a growing market for satellite service in the Americas with a teleport presence in Florida, access to multiple satellites and support for a variety of communications applications. The upgrade will help them further differentiate their offering and support much greater traffic.
iDirect has claimed that its approach and technology allows its partners to build a lasting foundation for a more intelligent network, with advanced technology that delivers practical, substantial business value.
CET Teleport GmbH recently
