Raymarine Inc., specializing in marine electronics, has introduced the 33STV, a new addition to its line of satellite TV antenna systems. The system features a 13 inch satellite dish enclosed in a compact 14 inch radome. It weighs less than ten pounds and is suitable or both powerboats and sailboats under 25 feet in length.
According to a press release, the company’s Satellite TV Systems are equipped with Dynamic Beam Tilting and Wide Range Search and are capable of tracking and locating satellites rapidly and efficiently irrespective of the weather conditions. The stabilized antenna system is automatically operated and is also compatible with several satellite providers like DirecTV (

The 33STV is included in Raymarine’s new Multi-satellite Interface Module or MIM which switches the antenna system across three broadcast satellites automatically. This ensures uninterrupted channel surfing similar to a home satellite TV system.
Further the control unit of this model can connect with up to six of the boat’s satellite receivers through USB connections. The 33STV also includes a NMEA0183 GPS interface which enables it to offer higher speed levels. The addition of the 33STV to the full line of satellite TV antenna systems including the 37STV, 45STV and 60STV models, enable the company to cater to vessels ranging in length from sub 20 feet to above 100 feet.
Raymarine Satellite TV Antenna Systems feature a conical scanning technology which incorporates a rotating sub reflector design for providing satellite lock besides reducing movement of the dish. This ensures a quiet operation and longer life for the antenna.
The high speed antenna drive systems keep satellites locked in during fast maneuvering or in heavy seas providing uninterrupted reception. The superior antenna elevation range maintains satellite lock farther into extreme North and South latitudes. The dual LNB design connects multiple satellite receivers to the antenna system which allows different programming on multiple televisions throughout the vessel, said company sources.
The satellites also offer high definition compatibility which enables digital brilliance of high definition programming. Optional dummy domes which match empty satellite TV domes allow camouflaging of other topside equipment besides providing architectural balance on masts and nautical structures.
Raymarine develops and manufactures a comprehensive range of electronic equipment required in recreational boating and light commercial marine vessels.
