Comtech Telecommunications’ Melville, New York-based subsidiary, Comtech PST Corp., has announced it landed a contract to develop and manufacture next generation, solid-state, high-power radio signal jamming amplifiers.
Comtech PST supplies broadband, high-power, high performance RF microwave amplifiers for use in a broad spectrum of applications including defense, medical, satellite communications systems and instrumentation.
The $2.1 million worth orders has been awarded by a domestic prime contractor and these amplifiers will be key components in airborne and ground based jamming systems manufactured by the client.
These amplifiers include the latest solid-state transistor and switch technology and provide for very broad frequency coverage.
Comtech already shares a long-standing relationship with this supplier of electronic warfare systems to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications (News - Alert) said they are very proud of this alliance and stressed that this contract indicates their well established technology leadership position with the customer.
Last week, another of the company’s subsidiaries, Comtech EF Data (News - Alert) Corp., received a $1.2 million order for satellite modems. A mobile operator is deploying these modems to support satellite-based cellular backhaul in Africa.
