New NFC Mobile Application Development Platform Announced
By Raja Singh Chaudhary, TMCnet Contributor
INSIDE Contactless (News - Alert), a provider of open-standard contactless payment and Near Field Communication or ‘NFC’ semiconductors and software, and Mobile Distillery, a provider of mobile technologies and solutions, have reportedly announced the two companies are entering a partnership to create a new NFC mobile application development platform.
This partnership will help in the development of NFC applications for the Wave-Me NFC services platform, so that software makers will be able to write applications once and deploy them across a broad range of NFC-enabled handsets.
The new NFC mobile application development platform is known as ‘Celsius for Wave-Me’, and it integrates INSIDE Contactless’ Wave-Me Service engine, which is a key component of the Wave-Me NFC services platform, with the Celsius mobile application production framework offered by Mobile Distillery.
The new platform will offer seamlessly integrated connectivity to INSIDE’s MicroRead NFC chip and software, which will ensure that NFC mobile applications benefit from advanced proprietary features of the NFC chip to offer optimized performance.
The patented Parametric Development feature of ‘Celsius for Wave-Me’ helps develpors in adapting their source code to create applications that can read either QR Code or ‘visual 2-D bar code tags’ or traditional NFC tags, whichever better suits the target handset.
Vincent Berge, CEO of Mobile Distillery said that the company is excited to be working with INSIDE Contactless, a known name in NFC technology to create ‘Celsius for Wave-Me’. Berge noted that developers addressing the Wave-Me services platform will now have a powerful way to deploy their applications across a wide range of handsets.
