Automotive Safety Product Auto-Finder Finds Increased Appeal During Holiday Season
By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor
Looking for a hot holiday gift? You might want to invest in the latest automotive safety product to hit the market - the Auto-Finder. The device reportedly uses cutting edge micro antenna system technology developed by Finder Technologies to guide users to their cars, or to any other preferred location from a span of up to a half mile.
Auto-Finder helps users get to their cars, and it is reportedly the first to offer a product that does so. It is considered better than traditional site locating devices like GPS and mobile device based applications because it can guide users to locations in real time without the requirement of an open sky to catch overhead satellite signals.
The solution also does not require users to feed in their initial location every time they park their vehicle in a parking lot. The Auto-Finder is currently being promoted as an ideal gift for families during the holiday season. It lets friends and family find their way to their parked vehicles, even during inclement weather, natural disasters, or human oversight. Users need to press and sweep the tiny hand held Finder device to operate it. The device will then guide users in the correct direction.
“According to the Justice Department, over 550,000 crimes are committed in parking lots annually,” President of Finder Technologies, Jim Berntsen said in a statement. “The Auto-Finder helps keep loved ones safe by guiding them to their cars quickly, thereby eliminating time spent searching parking lots and looking like targets to criminals."
A recent survey conducted by Decision Analyst found that more than 30 million people said that they required a product that would let them locate their car in big parking spaces and garages. Thus, there is a clear cut market for this product. Finder Technologies has developed this product recognizing this nascent need of consumers.
The first generation product has been targeted at locating automobiles. The company also intends to provide the so-called “Fynder” technology to other manufacturers to license and develop into innovative formats. Using the patented micro antenna system, the company expects to develop in the future such new age products as Child Finders, pet finders, electronic games and many more. Vendors are also being allowed to currently distribute the product via reseller programs.
