ActiveONE GPS Safety Cell Phone Arrives

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

LifeGuardian Technologies, LLC reportedly announced the launch of ActiveONE GPS Safety Cell Phone (News - Alert), a new business card-size, GPS-enabled device that provides assistance from emergency or routine personnel anytime and anywhere by the click of a button.

ActiveONE GPS Safety Cell Phone connects the user to a live personal care dispatcher standing by 24/7 to offer assistance. Anyone who is need of the service -- such as a person with medical problems, a person who needs driving directions or a person trying to locate a family member -- will benefit from the new device. The device has a center “CARE” button which can be pressed to activate the service, said company sources.

Within a short time a professional CARE specialist or dispatcher answers the call. The person will have complete personal information, name and number of family contacts and other important medical details that were provided earlier by the ActiveONE user. Based on these details, the dispatcher will be able to provide the required assistance, said company sources.

The ActiveONE GPS Safety Cell Phone is a combined mobile medical alarm and personal emergency call system including a new level of personal protection. The built-in GPS technology helps the CARE specialist to locate the caller accurately within a few feet in seconds of call reception in case the caller is not able to reveal the position.

Using proprietary call center technology the personal CARE specialists will identify and dispatch emergency responders from a nationwide database of local EMS, police, fire and rescue and disabled car services located near the incident location anywhere in the United States.

“Until now, you had to purchase a $30,000+ automobile for similar technology that only works in your car,” said Thomas C. Franks, president of the national distributor, Clayton Communications, Inc. “Now, that same potentially lifesaving technology is available as a mobile device that is small enough to go with you anywhere: at home, in car, backpack, pocket, belt or purse.”

The new device was developed keeping in mind people who may not desire to use a complicated cell phone. The ActiveONE device will offer the benefits of carrying a simple one-button device which offers immediate personal assistance from a live care specialist where and when required.

For placing outgoing routing calls the user has to press one among four pre-programmed speed dial keys to access a 20 number address book. Users can receive incoming calls and family members can ask for GPS location details also.

The phone is also useful for children who walk to school by themselves, for family members who want to locate elders who may get lost, drivers needing assistance, students and faculty in a campus and also for professionals working in dangerous locations.
