LoJack SCI Launches Next-Generation Cargo Monitoring Solution

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

LoJack Supply Chain Integrity, or “SCI,” which develops integrated solution that reduces and manages risk throughout the supply chain, has launched the next generation LoJack SCI InTransit solution.

The new LoJack SCI InTransit is a cargo tracking, monitoring and recovery solution that provides 24/7/365 visibility for shipments as they move through the international supply chain; from point of origin to point of destination, across land, air and sea, LoJack SCI officials said.

Using LoJack SCI InTransit, businesses can control the various aspects of cargo in-transit through a single user interface. The solution also provides complete monitoring support and recovery capabilities.

The system also enables users to set up parameters and receive alerts in the event of negative or challenging conditions such as high humidity or an instance of a tampering or intrusion. In such occasions, the system enables them to make key decisions to preserve the integrity of the cargo.

InTransit uses a combination of GPS, cellular GPS, DGPS and Radio Frequency to ensure continuous tracking. Customers can also integrate satellite communications technology while at sea or on railways for coverage in remote locations.

LoJack maintains a long-standing relationship with law enforcement agencies throughout the U.S. and its own extensive multi-agency law enforcement database and recovery network. This relation further enhances the process of recovery.

“This groundbreaking product clearly sets us apart from competitors in our industry,” Robert Furtado, president and CEO, LoJack Supply Chain Integrity, said. “No other company has this combination of offerings that can protect and provide visibility of cargo across the entire supply chain, whether it is on land, in the air or at sea; and from theft and environmental conditions.”

LoJack officials said that the next generation InTransit solution will enhance a company's participation in the Customs - Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, the voluntary government-business initiative designed to strengthen and improve overall international supply chain and U.S. border security, which helps organizations to expedite the movement of cargo through ports and customs.

Recently LoJack SCI announced partnership and systems integration agreement with OnAsset Intelligence, a provider of innovative machine-to-machine technology and services, to integrate OnAsset technology into the new LoJack SCI InTransit solution.

Last month, the company also signed an agreement with Travelers’ Inland to provide that company’s insured customers with the opportunity to purchase, lease or rent LoJack SCI InTransit at a discounted rate.
