Vizada Establishes Engineering Team to Provide Hands-On IP Solutions

By Raja Singh Chaudhary, TMCnet Contributor

Vizada (News - Alert), an independent provider of mobile satellite services, has established a dedicated Solutions Engineering Team that will make IP solutions expertise readily available to all Vizada Service Provider partners. The team receives focused training and support services by an IP-savvy technical staff and helps Service Providers tap into the burgeoning IP satellite market.

The latest facet of Vizada’s Business Support Systems, the Solutions Engineering Team represents a broad range of systems that are a key part of company’s commitment to help partners maximize revenue opportunities through the sale of Vizada’s multi-satellite network operator or ‘SNO’ offerings and proprietary Vizada Solutions.

The team provides the enterprises with live demonstrations and hands-on training and beta testing for all Vizada partners in the newly established, state-of-the-art Vizada Technology Center. Further, it coordinates with satellite network operators, equipment manufacturers and application providers to identify tested and proven IP solutions for Service Providers so that they can help the company by bundling and promoting the solutions in the marketplace.

Vizda has already been running a 24-hour Customer Care Center for its customers, and the Solutions Engineering Team has been established as an aim to complement to it. It will troubleshoot service issues that are more complex than those resolved with trusted protocols and practices. The company has invested state-of-the-art diagnostic and monitoring tools to help the team in drilling down and offering remedy for advanced connectivity and service problems.

According to Bob Baker, president and chief operating officer of Vizada Americas, company’s new Solutions Engineering Group dramatically bolsters its IP-based service capabilities, which have been a growing source of revenue for the company and its partners. Baker continued that this is just one of many specialty service and support programs Vizda has created in the last two years to better meet the needs of its partners and the customers they serve. Throughout the coming year, Vizda plans to expand this team and continue to invest in other programs, which like this one are designed to support company’s partners as they grow and innovate their businesses, Baker added.

Michelle Wagner-Suziedelis, a company veteran was selected by Vizada to establish and lead the new Group. Suziedelis will also serve as Director of Product Management and Solutions Engineering and will also continue to drive Vizada’s Training Academy and the Vizada Solution Certification Program, which is the first technical certification program of its kind in the mobile satellite services or ‘MSS’ industry.

In January 2009, Vizada had announced that along with Delta Wave Communications (News - Alert), it was going to supply the US Army Corp of Engineers or ‘USACE’ with Inmarsat and Iridium mobile satellite communications services in the United States and overseas.
