Integral Systems to Provide Support for SKY Perfect JSAT's Geolocation Systems

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Integral Systems (News - Alert), Inc. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary SAT Corporation has received a seven-year contract for providing continuous support to SKY Perfect JSAT’s (News - Alert) existing Monics CSM and satID Geolocation systems.

SAT Corporation’s Digital Signal Processing or DSP technology will be leveraged by Monics which is a radio frequency monitoring system that can provide automatic monitoring of SKY Perfect JSAT’s carriers.

SKY Perfect JSAT chose the Monics system as it provides carrier monitoring and interference detection in very less time compared to a classic spectrum analyzer. Also Monics’ unique algorithms automatically detect, characterize, and display interfering signals and allow results to be viewed at any time. Due to the satID system, interfering signals are Geolocated accurately within four kilometers, said company sources.

In a release Bob Potter, president of SAT Corporation (News - Alert) said, “We are pleased SKY Perfect JSAT has selected SAT Corporation to continue support of their Carrier Monitoring and Geolocation requirements.”

Potter added, “Our strong position in the industry allows us to partner with companies like SKY Perfect JSAT to provide a system that achieves their individual, as well as their customer's operational efficiency goals.”

SKY Perfect JSAT is a large service provider in Japan in terms of channels and subscribers. It owns 12 satellites which cover the whole of Japan and Asia besides encompassing Oceania and North America. This extensive network is used to support program transmission via the SKY PerfecTV! And SKY PerfecTV! e2 multichannel pay TV services besides providing relay circuits for terrestrial television stations.

SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, the core operating company of the SKY Perfect JSAT Group
was formed by the merger of JSAT Corporation, SKY Perfect Communications, Inc., and Space Communications Corporation in October 2008.

The multi-channel pay TV broadcasting business needs to cater to all the demands of consumers for better CS digital broadcasting and flexible transmission routes including mobile, IP and others, said official sources.

Integral Systems, Inc., of Columbia, provides integrated technology solutions for satellite communications-interfaced systems. Its family of companies encompasses Integral Systems, Inc., Integral Systems Europe, Lumistar, Inc., Newpoint Technologies (News - Alert), Inc., RT Logic, and SAT Corporation.  The companies serve the U.S. Air Force, NASA, NOAA, and several other global satellite operators through long-term relationships.
