By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

CapRock Government Solutions, a cutting-edge specialty IT solutions and telecommunications partner that works with government, defense- and intelligence-focused organizations, has announced that it has been awarded four multimillion dollar contracts with four separate U.S. government agencies. These contracts pertain to the provision of managed network services and over 400MHz of commercial satellite capacity, running through 2013. More specifically, these contracts incorporate requirements for teleport, bandwidth and backhaul services on X-band and Ku networks.

CapRock (News - Alert) Government Solutions President Tom Eaton said that the company’s capacity of over 4GHz, large number of satellites and bandwidth-on-demand at 24 DISN access points enables the company to supply high flexibility and access to robust network solutions.

CapRock, one of the divisions of global communications provider CapRock Communications (News - Alert), is the world’s largest provider of fully managed VSAT services to extreme environments. It manages a self-owned and operated infrastructure that includes four international teleports, eleven regional support centers, and four 24x7 network operations centers with a capacity of 4GHz, utilizing 63 satellites and employing more than 700 employees worldwide. The company’s Government team works with more than thirty government agencies and thousands of end users. CapRock’s network solutions incorporate military-grade features that are increasingly important to both federal civilian and Department of Defense agencies today.

The services provided by CapRock are to be utilized in support of a wide range of missions. These include airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; continuity of operations; and tactical field-deployed communications. To enable it to do so, the company has leveraged strategic relationships with fleet operators in order to secure the space segment necessary for these contracts. These operators are SES World Skies, EchoStar Satellite Services, Paradigm Secure Communications and Eutelsat

CapRock offers its products and services under a wide range of contract vehicles—including all four current satellite-service contracts to INMARSAT, GSA (News - Alert), SATCOM-II and DSTS-G. These are eventually to be incorporated into the upcoming Future Commercial Satcom Acquisition program.

In related news, Polaris Wireless and Globecomm recently inked a deal for managed E911 Phase II services.
