Globecomm Systems Signs a $8.7 Million Contract with a Foreign Government

Globecomm Systems (News - Alert) Inc., an international provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services, has announced the finalization and signing of an $8.7 million infrastructure contract from a foreign government.

“We are very proud to be selected by this customer for the expansion of its infrastructure,” said Dov Cydulkin, vice president of Asia Pacific. “Globecomm’s experience with developing Ka band systems, coupled with our ability to deliver a high quality product, provides significant value to our government customers.”

As per the terms of the contract, Globecomm will be responsible for designing and installing multiple Ka band antennas and related subsystems. The contract range comprises of a turnkey RF electronics installation for fixed and vehicle mounted Ka band terminal systems, monitoring & control software which will enable controlling all subsystems and facilitate remote monitoring and control from distant operational centers and life cycle support. It is anticipated by Globecomm that this contract will be completed by the Company’s fiscal year 2012 second quarter ending on December 31, 2011.

In a release, Thomas Coyle the Senior Vice President of Infrastructure said, “This is an important win for Globecomm based on our Summit Earth Station and Explorer Transportable Terminals product lines. This supports our strategy of expanding our Ka Band system products and solution offerings for the government and commercial markets.”
